Videos We Love: The Science of Doctor Who Explains The Eye of Harmony

As beloved as Doctor Who is, there’s not many who would claim the classic series or NuWho is renowned for it’s scientific accuracy. Made up techno crutches like Sonic Screwdrivers, Time Rams and the never failing Reversing the Polarity of the Neutron Flow, are routinely trotted out by the Doctor to reinforce his genius or resolve plots, and the show rarely pays much attention to the laws of physics.

In these videos from the BBC’s show The Science of Doctor Who, Professor Brian Cox (a confessed Who fan) cuts through the timey wimey stuff and demonstrates what would really happen if someone were to take a trip through a black hole (which Who historians will know was key to the Time Lords creation of the Eye of Harmony)
